Resource geography

Resource geography examines human use of earth resources. At Oregon State University, there facuty have active research programs in environmental impact analysis, the human-wildlife interface, transboundary water resources, environmental quality, recreation resources, mineral and energy resources, agriculture, policy analysis of natural resource management and planning, and land use planning and management. Faculty who commonly supervise students in resource geography include Becker, Doel, Jackson, Jones, Matzke, Muckleston, Santelmann, and Wolf.

There are also strong linkages with the OSU Rural Studies and Ecology, Evolution, and Conservation Biology (EBB) Programs.

Prospective students are invited to examine faculty specific research activity through connections found in the Faculty section of our website. Perusing the Student Theses and Student Publications sections provides evidence of specific directions resource geography research over time.
